On Saturday and Sunday the 4th and 5th May, volunteers from Horbury Civic Society took part in PLACEMAKER, a project to enhance the appearance of Horbury through replacing old street name signs with new, bespoke signs bearing the Horbury three castles crest. The PLACEMAKER project is one of a raft of projects that the Civic Society is undertaking this year. These are: Art in the Park, Purple River, new Redbox Gallery installations and Picnic in the Park. Each of these projects has been funded by a grant from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund which is designed to empower local community groups to develop projects that bring pride in place.
